Process
From 2015 to 2018 Australian artist Vic McEwan travelled to the UK twice a year to work at Alder Hey Children's Hospital with Clive Parkinson and Vicky Charnock. The project foregrounded the exploration of sound whilst remaining open to the type of artistic possibilities that are only possible through honouring the encounters had with people and place.
During these residencies Vic used various methods to understand the experiences that were unfolding before him. These included autoethnography, active listening exercises, workshops with patients and families, onsite creative experimentation, scientific measurement, a review of past research, and external observation of his process.
